Jeff is our Bernese Mountain Dog born on November 5th 2008. He thought Bonfire night fireworks were a celebration of his first birthday - they started just as he was tucking into a special birthday meal of bangers and mash with onion gravy. After dinner he poked his head under the curtain to see where the noise was coming from and watched the show for hours. He's loved fireworks ever since!
He came to us from Eleri's family on small farm just outside Buxton. He has a spotty nose so won't win any snobby Kennel Club prizes but he knows he's very handsome. He's smart but stubborn, and very affectionate. He loves to travel, and has ridden cars, buses, black cabs, the east coast mainline train as well as London Underground. He even tried his hand at sledging in the recent snow, but prefers to just run around wondering where all the smells are hidden under the white. His ambition this year is to go on a boat or maybe a canoe.
He likes other dogs, but is not quite so sure of collies anymore who might be over possessive of their fetch toys. He has rubbed noses with a cow and licked the face of a police horse - he might want to be a horse when he grows up. He would love to be buddies with his brother, Max the cat, but Max runs away whenever he gets too close.
He looks forward to Wednesdays when his friend Anne comes to walk him and he probably gets more biscuits than he should on those days. When the Doubleus are away he gets house sat by Meyrick & Laura or stays with Eleri & Chris or Anne or Sandra.
